Keen artists, photographers, poets and singers aged 60 plus are invited to take part in a Suffolk-wide talent competition.
The competition is being organised by Media Suffolk, sponsored by Bluebird Care and supported by Suffolk Libraries. The competition has four categories: Art, Photography, Poetry and Singing, so there are plenty of opportunities for people to get involved.
All entries must include full name, full postal address, contact number and email address. There is an entry form and more details on the Media Suffolk website and more information available from the county’s libraries.
Entries should be ideally be submitted electronically to mediasuffolk@gmail.com. They can also be posted directly to Gainsborough Community Library, Clapgate Lane, Ipswich, IP3 0RL. All entries should be clearly marked as 60+ talent competition.
The closing date is 30 November 2015 and there will be a presentation ceremony at Ipswich County Library in early November, which will showcase performances and shortlisted entries from the competition.
Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded for the top three entries in each category and everyone who enters will receive a special certificate. http://www.mediasuffolk.co.uk/competitions-2015/

60+ Talent Competition changed to a countywide competition, allowing entries from anyone 60+ living in Suffolk. This competition is organised by www.mediasuffolk.co.uk, sponsored by Bluebird Care and supported by Suffolk Libraries.
The competition has four categories: Art,Photography,Poetry and Singing.
The programme provides training for young people to become health ambassadors for their school and in doing so, gives them the opportunity to think about any basic healthy lifestyle changes that could be made in the school environment.
As part of the programme, St Helen’s Primary School on Woodbridge Road and Stoke High School on Maidenhall Approach have developed their own projects to improve the health and wellbeing of the students.
Both schools were acknowledged for their efforts and achievements by Lynda Bradford, Head of Health Improvement for Suffolk at a recent awards ceremony.
Healthy Ambitions Suffolk is an exciting project to make Suffolk the healthiest county by 2028. The biggest contribution we can all make is to see that our hearts keep healthy.
